The short version
Shift Weaver is a local-first scheduling tool. Your rosters, staff list, demand, and settings live in your browser. We don't collect personal data and there is no account to sign up for.
What we store, and where
All your data — staff names, blockouts, demand slots, assignments, and workspace settings — is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing is sent to a server by default. If you clear your browser storage, that data is permanently gone; we don't keep a copy.
No account, no personal data
Shift Weaver does not require you to sign up. We don't ask for your name, email, or any other personal information to use the app.
Exports and sharing
When you download a roster as an image or share it via link, the file or URL is generated on your device. Shared links encode the schedule directly in the URL, so anyone with the link can view it — treat shared links like you would any other shareable document.
Analytics and hosting
No personal or roster data is transmitted to or stored on our servers. The site is served by our hosting provider, which may collect standard, anonymous usage analytics (such as page views, traffic sources, and device type) for platform performance purposes. This data is not linked to any individual and does not include the contents of your rosters.
If the app encounters an unexpected error, basic diagnostic information (such as the error message, stack trace, and the page path where it occurred) may be sent to our hosting provider so we can fix bugs. This does not include the contents of your rosters, staff list, or other scheduling data.
A service worker is registered so the app can work offline; it only caches the app's own files.
Your control
Because your data lives in your browser, you're in full control. Clearing your site data, or uninstalling the app, removes everything. There is no server-side copy to request or delete.
